Unless otherwise instructed by the customer, the washing of the internal surfaces of the radiator is necessary.
This process has been modernized and improved in 2023 thanks to the installation of a 4.0 automatic forced flushing system: this is a super sophisticated system that ensures compliance with ISO 4406 specifications for oil cleaning and therefore grants contamination levels according to ISO2 15µm, ISO5 13µm, ISO15 8µm values.
This is the first prototype to be adopted by a company within the production cycle of radiators and allows Convett to pursue the objective of environmental sustainability (Agenda 2030 of the United Nations goals SDG 9 – SDG 12). Unlike the international standards, where the radiators are only painted internally with solvents harmful to the environment, Convett now can supply a product of greater reliability and eco-friendly.
In addition, the oil used in the process is filtered through a moisture removal system connected to the machinery, to be reused for subsequent cycles, therefore avoiding its disposal.
This flushing process allows to remove the metal residues left inside the radiator tubes.
Convett radiators, with their oval tube design, have an important advantage over plate radiators even when it comes to internal cleaning. In fact, an oval tube is much smoother and therefore easier to clean than two steel sheets welded together, with many corners where impurities can settle.
If requested in the order, however, the company can also perform an internal treatment with hot oil resistant painting, with a thickness of about 10-20 μm.
